Join 1st small ball to large ball with sl st. Sc around large ball (3 sc) until you reach the other side of ball. Join the large ball with 2nd small ball with sl st. Sc around small ball (6 sc) until you reach where you joined the two balls. Continue to sc around the large ball (3 sc) along the side that has not been crocheted. Once you have reached the sl st where you joined the 1st small ball with the large ball continue to crochet around small ball (3 sc) until you reach your first sc, join. (18)
With black yarn embroider or glue swirl to forehead. Embroider a small moth using the black yarn. Cut out two circles out of the red felt for eyes. Tow smaller circles out of black felt for pupils and two very small circles out of white for highlights. Glue or sew to face. Cut a small half circle out of red for the mouth and glue or sew to face under black mouth that you embroidered earlier. See picture for placement.
