Klink

COMPLETED: 50 GOAL: 649

Heres the first of my next evolution group, Klink, Klang and Klinklang. His two gears are supposed to move around each other, but I ended up sewing them together. Pretty straight forward pattern, but you will need some cardboard for this one. Both gears are identical, so make the pattern twice.

Materials: crochet hook, light gray, dark gray and blue-green yarn, black and white felt, cardboard

Body: (make 2)
With light gray, 6 sc in magic circle (6)
Row 1: 2 sc in each sc around (12)
Row 2: sc next sc, 2 sc next sc, around (18)
Row 3: sc next 2 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (24)
Row 4: sc next 3 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (30)
Row 5: sc next 4 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (36)
Row 6: *ch 5, sc in 2nd chain from hook and in remaining chs, sc next 6 sc* repeat 6 times (60)
Row 7: *in back loops of ch, dc, sc, sc, and then 2 sc in last loop, ch 1, continuing down other side, 2 sc first sc, sc next 2 sc, and dc last sc, sc next 6 sc* repeat 6 times (96 + 6 ch)
Row 8: *skip 1st sc (corner) sc next 3 sc, 2 sc next sc, sl st next 2 sc, 2 sc next sc, sc next 3 sc, skip next sc (corner), sc next 4 sc* repeat 6 times (96)
FO

Use one of your pieces to draw out a pattern on a piece of cardboard. It should look similar to the one below. Cut the pattern out and then cut yourself three more.

Center front: (make 2)
With dark gray, 6 sc in magic circle (6)
Row 1: 2 sc in each sc around (12)
Row 2: sc next sc, 2 sc next sc, around (18)
Row 3: sc next 2 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (24)
Row 4: sc next 3 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (30)
Row 5: sc next 4 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (36)
Row 6: sc next 5 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (42)
FO

Sew one center front to each body.

Nose:
With blue green, 6 sc in magic circle (6)
Row 1: 2 sc in each sc around (12)
Row 2 sc in each sc around (12)
FO

Stuff and sew to one of the center fronts. This is the front of Klink.

Center back:
With blue-green, 6 sc in magic circle (6)
Row 1: 2 sc in each sc around (12)
Row 2: sc next sc, 2 sc next sc, around (18)
Row 3: sc next 2 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (24)
Row 4: sc next 3 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (30)
Row 5: sc next 4 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (36)
FO

Sew to the other body piece over the center back. This is the back of Klink.

Outside edge:
With light gray, ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in remaining chs, ch 1, turn (4)
Row 1-96: sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn (4)
Do not finish off. You may need to add or subtract rows, depending on how you sew the edge on the body.

Sew the edge to one side of the body. Adjust your length of edge as needed to finish. Place one piece of cardboard inside. Begin sewing second body piece to edge. When you reach about halfway around, insert second piece of cardboard and some stuffing between the cardboard. Fill in the gear with more stuffing as you finish sewing the pieces together.

Finish: Cut two black ovals for mouth and two circles out of white for eyes and two smaller circles out of black for pupils. Cut two 'x's out of white for the other eye. Sew or glue to face. See picture for placement.

Don't forget to make two of these cuties.

Pachirisu

COMPLETED: 46 GOAL: 649

When I first looked at this Pokemon, the first thing that struck me was how off balance he looks. The head is enormous compared to the body, and the tail is even larger. He almost seems to be ready to tip over at any time. I tried to keep this same look as I was crocheting him.

Pokemon pattern link

I just added a link to a list of Pokemon patterns that I've been compiling. You can find it under my blog title.  I thought it might be helpful if someone is looking for a particular pattern. So far I have Generation One, but the rest will follow....
